Default Help me choose and exhaust setup

So not worried about long tubes as in most are the same. My question is what is a good setup for a Y pipe. What cat that is identical to stock in what location? And could keep stock quietness?

So for a good Y pipe, look for something that has two pipes, goes into a collector that merges into 1. Best set up flowing typically; alot better than the two pipes "merging" Or one just conforms into the other. Lucky for you since you have a 94, there is no O2 sensor after the catalytic converter so feel free to cut it out or gut it. If you need to keep it, there are many high flowing ones available or stock replacements. If you want to keep quietness, might want to try out Dynomax mufflers / get some turbo mufflers, they are very quiet yet the flow extremely well. If you get some flow masters or magnaflows, theyre quiet too but very restrictive.

Kooks has a sweet y-pipe, but it may not pair up with just anyone's headers. GMMG's exhaust was always popular, but it won't be quiet. None of that stuff would be considered cheap.

Get one custom made. That way there won’t be any question of fitment and the assurance there’ll be no contact with the underside. Just make sure it’s mandrel bent.

Heard on those suggestions. I was hoping a muffler similar to stock (idk how much power the stock one robs) but I like the quietness of it and duel cats with the Y pipe small ones that will take away the smell. Looking for a system as if the factory would build it. For a daily driver.

BBK has shorty single cat setup with y-pipe that should be smog compliant. Look on Summit.

Stainless Longtubes aren’t an issue on a daily driver?

Mufflex's Y pipe for LT1 4th Gen's is pretty sweet. Dual 3 inch to Flowmaster Y merge to 4 inch. You'll want the suggest hooker long tubes headers.

Note - Not smog friendly, not California friendly. Off road race, non-communist parts of United States only.

I had the LS1 version.

No, but I am kind of confused with what you're wanting. When I read you want the cat in a stock location, you can't have that with longtubes. If you have to pass a visual and have a tech who goes by the book and and they see you have long tubes with a y-pipe, cat(s) or not you'll get failed because the exhaust is not in the stock configuration. If you are wanting LT's and y-pipe to go with it then get whatever brand you like and then still have a custom made y-pipe with catalectic converters. Again, make sure it's 3" mandrel bent and that you get cats which can accommodate that.

I don't know what prices are like for a custom job these days, but for high flow cats and mandrel bends you're probably going to be close to that range. Call around.
