Default trickflow lt1 heads are off to shop

Hey, i ordered my lt1 trickflow heads about four weeks ago from usa racing. They came in yesterday and i sent em off to get them done. So when they get back they will be put on the ss along with a custom grind cam my girlfriend wants me to order. I was wondering what i can expect power wise from the combo.

Its hard to say with the little info given, I could see them if done right with a good cam making well in to the 400s. Just no one has really put them on a car yet, they seem just like any other casting out there to have a decent amount of potential. Phil from Ai is working on a set, he said he'd post flow numbers from them when hes done with them. I can see them having potential to make real good power, comparable to a ported AFR casting in that CC size.

USA racing, I have seen their sticker on a blown 5 liter Mustang, they out of Georgia?

no this place is in arlington, tx. Ive known a worker their for several years who owns a 11 sec. 4.6 and another guy with a high 9 second ls1 car heads, custom cam, 150 wet kit and a bunch of other stuff

Well, N/A its tough to say they runners are larger and the combustion chamber is too right? If so the compression will go way down. It really depends on the cam. Any ballpark on specs? I would expect 400rwhp without knowing all the details.

you could probably shave 10CC off of them and make them close to stock size CC.

The problem with that is they may have to take alot off the head, which may result in him having to have the intake manifold machined down so it fits correctly. If you deck those heads too much the bolt holes and ports on the intake to the heads no longer line up correctly. i guess it comes down to how much they take off the heads.

We'll know what to expect once someone puts them on. Impossible to guess even with flow numbers. The flow #'s won't tell the whole story, but the dyno and track times will .
