Tell me more about the FP gauge. I was always wanting one but was afraid of leakage and could never find a long enough hose to route it.

no real worries about leaking as far as I can tell. I used a few adapotors and pulled the schrader valve on the rail and that's where it reads from. It's an electric gauge so no fuel in the cab.

Electric?! Rad. If you don't mind, do you have a parts/link list, I want to do this.

it's an autometer z fuel pressure gauge. They have tons of different ones.

I'm upgrading the turbo on my setup to a gtx3584rs. I think it will give me a better street setup with less lag from what I'm seeing.

that's what I thought too. I was watching the richard holder stuff online. The dyno results he did suggest this will be a better turbo for my application than the gt45 i currently am using. These have better response and make more power than the ol gt45. Im not the biggest fan of only having roughly 2500rpm of usable turbo with my current gt45. Power is good but limited range.

Holdner stuff is a bit wonky. You have to take into account that his dyno configuration adds like 33% power compared to WHP numbers. So his CHP numbers are like 100Hp+ greater than the WHP numbers. (117HP in this case!) This exaggerated NA number is compounded with boost. So if the motor makes 117hp more NA. It will make more power per pound of boost than it should as well. Which is where he gets all his ridiculous HP ratings for his turbos. A 33% swing form crank to wheel HP is ridiculous. Then for each lb of boost you also gain 33%. So say an average turbo small bore setup makes an additional 20hp per pound. His setup will make 26.6 hp per pound. Thats an additional 100 hp per 15lbs of boost on top of the additional NA hp! This is how he gets magic "1000" hp t4 setups running diddly for boost.

Take his latest videos showing actual power numbers with a chassis dyno. The 5.3 they are testing is putting down 238whp (less is some runs) as a base line. That is a realistic power number. Not the 350+hp he sees on stock 5.3’s on Westech’s engine dyno.

Taking into account real world testing, racing, and actual WHP numbers. That dinky 62mm exh wheel is VERY poorly matched as a single on any V8. It was at 2:1 back pressure already at 1 bar of boost with his testing. Contrary to his testing, you aren't making 800+ hp on 1 bar of boost. So that turbos not happy at 800hp on any LS.

That said the gt45 is also a dinosaur, so it may make around the same power in the end and it will def. spool more quickly. I’d monitor the back pressure close though.

The S366 is tried and true and a MUCH better match with an 80/73.4 exh. wheel and a 66/91 compressor.

It's not really the power I'm not thrilled with. I'm not planning to go 800hp. I'd have to build my setup more to do that. I'm more looking for 550 with really quick spool up. I was thinking about going to a 7875 but chose this because of the ramp up. If its no good I can always change it out. They aren't crazy expensive.

So this is fun UPS lost my turbo at the warehouse 20min from my house. I tracked it all the way across the USA then clear customs into Canada and then bam....lost on the dock at the last stop. I'm betting someone stole the damn thing. This Sucks.

So my turbo showed up. Super late. Ups really was slow this time. I swapped the turbo out and everything thing lined up ok. except the oil drain was a smaller t3 style compared to the larger one on my gt45. I have to wait a couple days until it gets here. Also the exhaust vband was different and needed to be changed out. My first impressions were. This is a MUCH physically smaller turbo and much lighter. The billet wheel is really nice and this should hopefully boost up super fast. I left the turbo blanket off. I don't think this turbo is going to need it.

I just it out for a drive. It starts boosting by 2500rpm and rocking hard by 3100rpm and pulls great all the way to redline. The car feels so much more lively. I like this turbo way better than the gt45 that was on there. Great turbo for my application.

its crazy how this turbo has better response and still pulls harder all the way to redline while being smaller and lighter. I guess that's what like nearly 20yrs of tech and advanced does. This car is a super fun street car.
