Default Engine randomly not cranking over - Click, Click

Okay, my engine started randomly not cranking over, and when it happens, I get a very noticeable, click, click from under the hood when retrying. It does eventually crank and start, but something is intermittent failing to providing power to the starter. I have replaced the starter, and the battery is certainly good. I was always thinking the started relay is on the starter, but perhaps not. It really feels like a dirty contactor/switch not closing to provide power to the starter.

It does eventually start, but it make take many cycles of turning the key to start to do so.

Where is the starter solenoid or relay on these 1995 cars? Is there something else I need to be looking at?

Thanks.

The starter solenoid is mounted on the starter and is where your + battery cable and the wire from theft deterrent relay attaches. If you are having the same exact issue after replacing the starter, then it's probably not the solenoid. Could be the TDR or even the ignition switch, plus the clutch switch is in that circuit, too. The TDR is tucked up under the RH side of the dash by the glove box (hatch relay (same looking) is next to it).

ANY electrical issue I run across... I check grounds first. Been bit more than once by not checking.

Are all your battery cable connections clean and shiny enough your mother in law would eat off them? If not, grab some scotch brite and get cleaning

Ah okay. Is the TDR one of those square Bosch relays in that rectangular fuse box under the hood?
