Ok i have 2 LS1`s but my little brother has a 93 Z with the LT1 and he wants me to buy a few performance things for his car but this is what we already have moroso cold air, air foil, dynomax exhaust what would be the next few biggest bang for the buck items? I saw a lt1 ported intake manifold and i have seen ported 52mm throttle bodies or even some 3.73 gears ? Im looking at about a $600 budget period so whatever can get his car moving quicker then most LT1`s let me know.
Thanks
Thanks
headers, and gears...is it an m6 or auto...i dont think u would benefit with the ported tb and manifold alone...now ported headed would be awesome...but i dont think u could do it for 600 bucks...do some search on self porting and see if u think u can take the challege...atleast porting ur own tb if u really want to upgrade

its an automatic that he has, im not all that sure but i know with a lot of LS1`s you can throw a cam in without any other big mods (heads , pushrods etc) and still get like 30hp how are the LT1`s ? I also was wondering about the underdrive pulley for the lt1`s ? the bad part is he just got sent to california in the military and here in Georgia there are no emissions laws no tint laws etc he thinks they still might make him pass some kind of emissions while hes over there for his 2 yrs there
i know u can put a small cam...but lets see if someone else can help u with that...i do know if he has an auto u may want to get a shift kit, stall(not sure if its in ur price range)and when u get the stall a tranny cooler...this wont get u hp but i will help ur et's....about the pulleys i have heard more bad than good so u might want to hold up on that...i say try to get a good deal on headers/gears/shift kit
LT1's are nitrous ******. 150 wet all day with NO problems. However, back to your original question, what works and what doesnt. Intakes on LT1's flow great from the factory, they arent the restrictive part of the LT1 like they are on the LS1. The exhaust on LT1's is horrible. Find a used longtube header setup for 600 and you will be good. You already have the intake components to balance out the flow on the intake side so work on the exhaust side. You will get the most HP outta that. However, if you can get your hands on a used stall like mentioned above, that will give yo the biggest seat of the pants feel through the first two gears.

When I was in the service you could keep your car registered in your home state of record as long as your drivers license was also valid in your home state of record, in your brother's case Georgia. I lived in Sacramento CA for 6 years, never had to renew my license and kept my cars registered in WA state. Never had a smog inspection until I bought a car in CA and had to register it there. I don't know if those rules have changed but have your brother check into it.
