Mid lengths should be emissions legal. I wouldnt waste my time with shortys if mids could be had legally. Much more gain with mids than shortys.

PS - Luckily KY has no emissions, so I'm going LT.

maybe not in cali, but they can be easily tuned to be street legal in any other state if the owner is running stock h/c.

They will bolt up fine. The header ports are the same, it will just take some creativity with the air and egr systems.

I've got 93 style SLP's on my 1997 !

I love them, I did away with EGR and AIR so having these wasnt a problem. They fit great and woke the car up a lil bit, I like these over the 96-97 style because they are a single cat and are almost a mid-length header over the what I feel is a crap design for the 96-97 dual cat cars....

I'd say the SLP's are good quality !!!

Your mechanic is wrong. The ONLY differences in the 93 vs. 94-95 header designs is in the AIR/EGR setups on the passenger side. On the 93's, the Secondary AIR Injecton tube was located on the #8 primary and there was no provision for an EGR, whilst on the 94-95 style the Secondary AIR Injection tube was located on the #2 primary, and the #8 primary had an EGR tube.

To make them work you would have to buy the header EGR blockoff plate, and use the properly sized fittings along with a length of flex pipe to extend the Secondary AIR injection tube forward to the connection.

ALL LT1 heads from 92-97 have the same bolt pattern and spacing for the headers. The only major differences was emissions tubing locations and Y-pipe versions (single vs. dual cat).

94FormulaT/A's headers will work with your 93, you just have to do a little extra part work to get the AIR tubes set right. Or just block them all off and happy motoring.

Ok i talked to my mechanic...and he explained what you said to me, my midunderstanding from you to him...ill buy them then .....though i do ask if if you could locate some 'flex pipe' or something that will fit to hook up the everything correctly since you have the headers...if not no biggie

- now im happy

If you can call me so we can get these things worked out
