Default ST3500 for my lt1?

I have an oppurtunity(sp?) to get this t/c for my lt1 for $400. My mods are in my sig. I daily drive the car; it sees 70% highway, 30% city everyday. I have the stock 2.73's. How would this affect my gas mileage, drivability, and will i get a good gain from this with my mods?

Thanks

Man you need gears, find a 10 bolt with some 3.42s. I daily drove my car 300+ miles a week through nasty Houston traffic with a Vigi 3200, car ran fine. On the freeway the converters locked, so no different than stock untill you punch it. In town you gotta learn how to drive it but with 3.23s I could easily move around town and never break 2500 rpms. Main thing is due to converter slipping the car wont want to move forward as much, that feels kinda weird. Also street tires stand zero chance, your going to light them up with the quickness.

I can't keep silent.

I have a ST3500 on my shelf. Worst. Mod. Ever.

It was *very* loose behind my h/c motor. It also threw my computer for fits with transmission error codes. I had to convert to OBDII to get the PCM to shift right at the dragstrip. OBDI computers have known problems with overly loose converters.

ST3500 works great behind LS1s. OBDI LT1s though, it SUCKS.

I would get a Vig 2800 if I were to do it all over again. Maybe a Vig 3200. Definitely not anything higher than 3200 tho. There were several of us LT1 owners who got ST3500's at the same time for our cars, and ALL of us had this problem. Soft shift 1-3 at the dragstrip, etc. My trans always felt overly mushy as well (it does have a kit in it).

I stuck the stock torque converter back in (after the h/c motor blew, and I dropped the baby LT1 in there). Absolutely nothing wrong with my trans. It'll chirp the 1-2 shift with the stock T/C in there and the 203 rwhp motor.

I decided not to get it. I am going to work out the bugs i got right now with my lt1, then just keep it around while i collect for a Ls1.

I've seen Vig 3200s muck up the pcm on OBDI LT-1s too. I'd stick with a Vig 2800.

I didn't know you were on here. Great service and great product. I'm glad I got a cable from you back when I did, I've used it well over 100 times since March.

I have talked with Bryan from PCMFORLESS and he says he can send me a tune for the higher stall which will solve any problems with the lt1 PCM.
