Why would you pay 300+ for something you can do with a dremmel?

The only thing you will do to your MAF sensor with a dremel is ruin it.

There is no gain there other then a scewed tune up

I did a ton of this stuff years ago. Right now I am running MBA MAF ends and Stock electronic with a custom tune. Took me a while to figure out the tables but they are easy to do now

The best is just to use a stock MAF that has not been butchered Some say the screen has a reason to be there but we have always dyno'd a hair higher with out it.

If you hack up your MAF with out tuning on a 96 up car you may regret it

I had the 85mm MAF and it jacked my **** up bad. a/f went to 10.1 in some cases and caused me to have a pretty good amount of KR up top. I switched to some billet ends on a stock MAF and it works great.

Listen to TwoFast4Lv and reread what he said, even new ends on the stock electronics needs recalibration in the pcm.

The stock pcm can not understand the ZO6 sensor at higher than about 350grams per second and the stock f-body sensor it can understand up to about 450grams per second, making the LT1 f-body sensor the best choice. IF you know what you are doing then the calibration for the ZO6 MAF can be done and you can rapm up the fueling based on map and RPM past the 350gps but basically what you are doing then is trying to make the thing work speed density , why overcomplicate things.

As I said on another board, all the Granatelli or even s hacked stocker does is report FALSE info to the pcm, if you have the stock too rich pcm setting this can result in a temporary power gain but the O2s will help the pcm learn it out. Much better to dial in the AFR through the pcm and leave the sensor alone.
