Default Closed Loop = Slow car

Anyway to keep my car out of closed loop? When it first starts it pulls like crazy..runs perfect...once it hits closed loop it start acting up horribly and no longer pulls. Just curious... Its going to be a few weeks before I can even get a tune loaded.

Why not just diagnose and fix the problem? Otherwise sell it and buy an old carbed POS. Sorry, just have no appreciation for people blaming everything on injection and evil sensors.

I would look to the O2s, MAF as the primary culprits, possibly a leak of some sort airflow/exhaust wise between the MAF and O2s.

WTF?? Im just asking if thats possible until I get my tune?? Ill get right on the pos carbed motor Glad you could sign up and waste some bandwidth Appreciate it.

Just to clarify.... I will be scanning the car shortly..just dont have immediate access to anything... another member here answered my question.. so yes...I can and thanks for the suggestions... but Im hardly "blaming everything on injection and evil sensors"

LMAO. No tension.. my friend already helped me out on this one... and since "i hate evil fuel injection" :wtf: im off to buy a 1983 Delta 88 with a 4bbl 307 and 2:73 open diff.

I got a 1986 Delta 88... but its fuel injected. Only got 40k original miles on it though

lucky bastage..my 83 had a good ol Rochester four-barrel.. I beat that thing hard core back in the day.


Found out the EGR block off plate I made wasnt sealing up completely. Taking care of that tomorrow... everything should be alright again.

JS - yeah my friend informed me of that... I was a little confused by how the car was acting... the SES light kicks on while under lower rpm (taking off from a light for instance) but it you sit and idle for a few moments it goes back off. Still havnt had access to the scanner...hopefully have it figured out tomorrow morning.
