Default Anyone have this problem with Hooker LTs?

Put my Hooker Lt's on my 96 LT1, about 3 months ago, and when i take off from a dead stop it sounds like they(the LT's) are bouncing or vibrating off some thing else like the k member or ?
Anyone ever had a similar problem Thanks!!!

look real close at your pass side header where the primaries come down by the K-member. They could be just touching right there with engine vibration. Some ppl grind the Kmember a little in this area.

Yes if the Y-pipe is not built right it will do this. I have also had a early set hit the K-member on the Pass side

Check the steering knuckle. I installed my JET HOT LT's early this year. They are basically a copy of the Hookers and my steering knuckle was touching the primary tube. I got out a dremel and ground the flanges on the knuckle down a little bit.

Maybe it was faulty installation.

I have the same problem but I don't really care about it. I assume when the engine moves/car flexes that the headers do hit the K member but that's only on take off. With my steering knuckle, there was direct contact when I installed them but I just took a ballpeen hammer and made me a dent in the primary for clearence. Works like a charm.

Maybe your engine mounts could stand to be replaced?

I know its not the y pipe b/c its also a Hooker y pipe, everything matches up, i'm guessing its the k member. will check it out tomorrow. What do you guys reccomend shaving the k member, or bending the LT's?
I think I will bend the LT's.

Had that problem, except my Jet-Hots were doing just more than touching, I couldn't get my knuckle back on unless I dented the primaries
