Didn't wanna intrude on your f/s thread anymore so I'll ask here...

For those who don't know, backstory here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219400

Is it possible that you can post pics? How did you actually acquire the car?

Aren't concepts destroyed or something? I also saw he said his friends motor blew on the dyno. Well, then I would say something was wrong with his friend's motor. A dyno is basically like having your car drive in place, so I guess his car can't move. Well, if this car can't move, it isn't a real ZL1. Don't camaro's come stock being able to run? Bulls can't **** big enough for this one.

Concepts are taken to GM's "Area 51" and never seen anymore. There is actually a place funded by GM that acquires, maintains, and houses these concepts and other rare cars. I saw a show on it on SPEEDVISION. It had the Monopoly guy on it with the rediculous mustache.

They have those 3 concept cars where i forgot who, but he tried to put a jet enjine in them. It was found to be unpractical. One was control with a Joystick, but this was back in like the 60's or something. They also showed the corvette 427 concept, it was supercharged with like 770hp, kinda cool.

This reminds me of when Ronnie Duke first started posting here.

If you really do have it, that's gotta be a real attention grabber!

Who is Ronnie Duke? Tell me the story. I like to learn forum tales. Just like Enisguy taught me of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I went and bought it lol.

I think that it's interesting. Someone who might actually own the one and only Camaro ZL1. That's a pretty nice car IMO.

actually there are more than one. back in 69 there was the ZL1 option i think its either 69 cars that were built or 3 cant remember. the option cost more than the car itself. you got a 427 aluminum engine. it was the baddest camaro ever built. hince the reason the GMMG cars that had 427s were called ZL1s.

Ronnie Duke has a ATI F-1 powered 388ci C5-R in a 3700 lb full interior 'vert running 8.52@164mph. Pretty nice, but IMO the LS1 can do much better. Matt Harlan is running 8.9Xs in his 346ci turbo LS1. Pretty damn impressive if you ask me. His car is absolutely sick. If he stroked the motor, he could break the LS1 record. That record is screming to be broken, IMO.

What I meant by that comment was that when Ronnie first started posting on here, everyone including many moderators ripped him apart cause he claimed to have the baddest **** around and no one believed him. Shortly there after, he shows up with a Trans-Am that sets the record for the fastest LS1-based 4th gen around. In short, he did have the baddest **** around.

BTW, Harlan has run a 8.527 at around 163mph, only .006 behind Duke with the 8.521.

Did he really? Wow, that's news to me. I last heard from him that he broke into 8.9s. That's pretty crazy, he's progressing fast.
