This year I am coming back with an LT1 also. The only guy around with an LS1 that could touch me sold it so I will push the bar anyways Not as fast as the guys at HPE but a low ten second slip is on my list
Well I got the low 10 slip and I know 9's are pretty doable but running 9's much less 8's takes a pretty reliable powerplant and that starts with the foundation of the block.... If Chevy made Bowtie LT1's I'd be the first in line to buy one.... The LS1 guys have all the fun with their C5R blocks.... We're the stepchildren in chevy's eyes.

Believe me it pains me to release the LT1 but if you look at it the way I look at it I'm probably not going to get any less 'oooooooh's and aaaaaaaah's' with a big thumper under the hood than I did running 10.40's in a daily driven camaro..... I care more now about the numbers on the scoreboard than the designation of the motor.... At least it's still a small block

Good luck on your upcoming season....

just to let u guys know the block never split ... so the block can handle 1500hp it spun a bearing...we thought the pistons would break first but nope that didnt break either so it was just somethign that happened.. the new one will be running soon

WOW, for some reason I just had a feeling the block didnt give. I cant wait to see the car up and running again, good luck with it Rick, Chuck, and everyone else at HPE.

I seen a donovan block masked as a lt1 but can still tell what it is and it sure wasnt a lt1......A certain impala owner done this not long ago for strength and integrity and still called it a lt1, not sure how you can call it a lt1 however...

That is impressive that the stock block can handle so much. Hell the 4.6 screams Forged internal if you want 9 psi of boost

Congrats on the time and that sucks you gotta rebuild.. But seems you won't take long to get it done!

It's not, by any stretch of the imagination. We all know LT1 blocks are iron and not aluminum.

This is one of the lamest BS sheets I've ever seen:
