we have made over 420 RWHP on SLP headers

If you get long tubes and want to dump them cheap let me know. I want a set laying around for when I put my car back on the street

Ive been reading these boards for a while also and have seen this issue come up a bunch of times and I still dont know what to think.

I too would really like to see a side by side dyno chart of a car with long tubes vs shorties with NO mods done in between and see what the gains may be and where they occur in the RPM range.

I would think a mag like GM High Performance or Hot Roding or one of those has to have done a test like this in the past.

I have or had (i can get them again) of 2 different cars, one with shorties and one with LTs, the peak was the same for both. And these were bolt on LT1s.

I always reference the GMHTP LT1 shootout in NJ. Russ had the field covered by 2-3MPH and ET by a couple of tenths and he ran the Edelbrock shorties, all the other cars had LTs.

Ive been wondering the same. I have SLPs on my car I bought off ebay. The plug clearance does suck. Ill probably ending up waiting till I find a good deal on some long tubes before I swap.

That is a good idea but i would like to see how each car with each pair reacts to sequential mods side by side. That way you know at what point your really gonna gain by doing the swap. I really dont think there is that big of a gain for the money spent to swap.
