Default air leak somewhere...

Well i recently made a trip to NC, from Virginia, to pick up my new rims. When I got back, i noticed that I was burning oil. Lucky, it didn't get bad during the trip, but later that weekend, i burned through a quart in 1 night of cruising, so the car sat for a few days until i got to work on it. I figured it might be an intake manifold leak, so we pulled off the intake, and I replaced the gaskets, and layed down a think bead of silicone and put everything back together. When we took the manifold off, it looked like oil had been up to the very edge, but didn't blow all the way through, so I guess we did it just as a precaution for the future, no big loss . So I then pulled off the passenger side valve cover, because there was more oil on the passenger side of the block, and I noticed that the back left corner looked like it had some oil on it, so I bought a new gasket, and replaced that. I also redid my header gaskets at the same time, because I had a big header leak as well, hehe. Well after doing that, i've only driven the car a few times, and it doesn't seem like its leaking oil so far.

Well, with all of that out of the way, and I also just wanted to share all the damn work I did this last week , I have an air leak somewhere. It sounds like a hiss coming from center of the dash, like on the back of the intake manifold. I already checked all the vacuum lines, and made sure the egr was bolted down ( I wanted to remove the egr / air system at the same time i pulled the manifold off, but didn't have any blockoff plates, nor the time to wait for them to come in, and it would throw a code since I'm a 97) So where could this leak be coming from. Its extremely quiet at first, then gets really loud as its about to shift, then gets quiet again. It might have been doing this before all this work, but my header leak was so loud, would have drowned it out . So what could be causing this? Anything I could have overlooked? I keep thinking it has something to do with the EGR solenoid, because I only think it does it at slight throttle, and it sounds like its coming from that area.
Thanks.

heck the vacum lines around the intake. the hissing sound is most likely air being sucked into the intake with a hose off. when you pulled the intake off, you prolly forgot to put a vacum line back on and so you are getting a hissing from the intake. just double check all the lines. Ive pinched a hose before when i put the intake back on so check adn make sure none of the lines got between the intake and the block and pinched off when you bolted it down.

I already went over all the vacuum lines, and there all in correct, so i'm not sure whats causing it. It sounds likes it coming from the back of the intake, so I think it has something to do with the egr maybe. It doesn't do it at idle, nor if I rev the engine, so i'm not sure what it is...
