As far as intake manifolds there is nothing off the shelf better, some guys even went custom built and din't gain much. The LT1/LT4 intakes are not perfect for all applications but are pretty good.

very true. the ltx intakes are very good straight fro the factory. ported, there isnt much that is better unless you are going with a very serious motor for a particular application

yeah which type of cam you got?? And guys, if there is a big cam is it necessary to change the valvetrain of the heads?? ie: AFR heads..Some people say me to change AFR's springs and retainers with comp cams' springs and titanium retainers.. Is it necessary??

I port mine just enough to match the gaskets. they are very good from the factory. The only way to really improve them is to have them extrudehoned. but man, $$$$$$$$$$$$$ for that process.

No offense I wont give a way my cam specs only thing I will say is that it is a big solid roller verry big nos cam the car has been 2 the track several times now and I am having a problem with it braking up for a split second I can watch it on the wide band and I think it has to be the opti spark looking to upgrade any sugestions.I still have the afr valve train but just pulled the motor 2 check over was going to go threw the heads why are they upgrading away from afr stuff .I had aset of 220s also on my sbc 383 and my engine guy said the springs were junk he didnt like them we upgraded to k motion but ended up selling evreythign for new project.I dont want to give away to much about my setup for personal reasons but the car runns verry well for being a nos motor on hp.
