most power from blower LT1?
just wondering what is the most power made on a stock lt1 block via supercharger. i just want to push it hard and need to see how many other guys have done this. i know of a couple 1000+ rwhp turbo lt1s. and i know chris sikora makes around or just under 800 rwhp with his YSi setup. anyone else?

keith mease is running the Eaton M112 off a lightning (see the You F-body guys get to be jealous for now anyways thread) on his LT1 Impala. He's got over 250K on the stock shortblock. He's running around 10psi and has over 2000 miles on the setup with no engine troubles so far. Hp/Tq wise I could image it would be close to the limits of the stock rods..

i am talking the stock block itself. i have forged rotating assembly. i am not worried about an eaton M112 power levels. look at my sig. it is my daily driver. lol. i am just thinking what is the limits of the block giving up with a blower setup - since it puts more stress on the block than turbos.

Go over to Camaroz28.com and do a search. They have done countless discussions on this subject in the past few months or so. I think some say around 1200 HP or so. Also check on www.horsepowerengineering.com, they have a turbo LT1 firebird that is using the stock block that is running I think low 8's. They have some video's of it on their site.
Also, I am getting parts together for a FI LT1 builup. Were you happy with FMS building your 383? I was going to check into them for mine when I get all the parts. I have heard a lot of good about them but I know that they do more LS1's than LT1's.
Thanks

the consensus seems to be that noone has destroyed an LT1 block yet.
the limits of the stock block just giving out without failure from other parts 1st, has not been found by the guys making the BIG numbers on the dyno and at the track

ok, no turbo, just because i wanted a supercharger setup. if i am not happy with the power of this YSi setup, i will change teh plans to include a massive single. as for the F series or X trim, i am sure at 1600 cfm this YSi will make enough. i will check out the threads on camaroz28.com - i dont go there much anymore. maybe i should. i am looking for somewhere in the 750 rwhp through a big convertor, th-400, big moser, etc. i notice a lot of the big rwhp cars are 6 speeds so i dont consider myself as comparable. but there are exceptions as well.
buffman - the M112 eaton blower is not even close to the blower i run on this camaro. it cant push close to the same cfm, but thank you all for your insight. just needed the concensus.
as for FMS, top notch and i am a HARD customer to please. i feel there is no one better out there esp in terms of customer service. he treats each car like its his own. besides just look at the cars coming out of his shop - they are among the most powerful and fastest cars in the country.
simple - the bank is long been broken. i just hope i have enough money to get my car back from Futral this project started as a mild mild mild car. i was having problems with the s trim and a bad ed wright tune lifting the heads. to say the least it should be one fun street car.

Madman made 1200fwhp with an ATI procharger in his old 94 TA, the load of the blower broke the snout off his crank at one point, but the block held up fine.
George Baxter made 1125fwhp in a LT1 block that from my understanding had no block fill in it. When he went to a Dart block they dissassembled it and found no bore shift, cracks, or unusual wear. He sold the block to a guy who last I heard was going to use it for an 1100hp nitrous setup.
As was mentioned before Rick Intrau aka Bigrick made 1238rwhp on his turbo LT1 setup. It spun a bearing due to what was believed as sabotage at the Thunder shootout. When it was dissambled the block was found to completely intact.

Don't forget Jeff Stevens on the west coast (he's local to me).... he's got a Ysi trim I believe.... Shooting for 1000hp with the stock block and AFAIK he's trying to do it and remain emissions legal!!!!
his website is http://para.noid.org/~lj I believe.... ALOT of good info on there.... Like how to run like over 50 lb injectors with a stock PCM.... He runs 9's and his car is VERY streetable....

Gator I would get ahold of Sikora and get his LT1 bracket and drive kit for the YSI. His is the only one that doesnt eat belts and break the snout off the crank. The block if prepped right isnt the weak link. I used to run the Felpro 1074 head gaskets and never even blew one. All my problems came from the belt

already got the brackets from chris sikora. great guy, super pieces. i didnt get the strut bar that he makes. wonder if that will be a worry. i actually made this post late, since everything is alredy together, just waiting on some pulleys and little things. lol. just started to worry about the block, but i guess it isnt the first issue. thanks madman.
