Where should I look for new Stroker Kits?
Due to the increased cost of finishing my garage (and the fact I now have a girlfriend) I have decided to build my bottom end of my Camaro instead of buying the shortblock stroker motors preassembled. I would like to get some ideas of some good places to buy the stroker kits (383 or 396). Also any suggestions on who to send the block off to for machining in Georgia. Thanks

There are too many to list....do a search in the LT1 section on CZ28 for "stroker kits" and you'll find more websites than you care to visit.

most 396 SBC, including the LT1, will need the block clearanced so if you have already had it machined be prepared to send it back. if you havent you need to tell them a 396 is going in. in most cases it is cheaper and easier to just buy a long/short block 396. the 383s usually dont need near as much machining

not sure, but it usually depends on which rods you get. so when you buy it ask if the block would need clearancing. some times it will change from block to block. gotta love "acceptible" clearances. the only sure way is to get the engine ready and start putting it together, then check all the clearances. this is good to do anyways, so you know that it is good.
