Default Heads and Cam is in!!!!

...Well, after 22 hours I finally got my GM847 Cam and Ported and polished heads put in (2.00/1.55). I haven't really gotten into it but the SOTP is bad *** just hitting it alittle It was such a bitch to put everything in, but it definatly paid off. I still need a tune, and its got some surge down low, but other than that everything is tight. It sounds so mean at idle This is the biggest mod i have done to date (only 18) Once it gets tuned, and i get some nittos, i am hoping for low 12's/high 11's. Once I get a bigger intank fuel pump, and bigger injectors (if i need them) I am gonna run a 150 shot (hopefully 10's) and then im gonna need a rear ....If it even makes it that long LOL. Anyway, i just had to let u guys know how it went, i had been asking alot about it and figured i would let everyone know how it turned out. Thanks to all those who helped, Dave.

THanks guys, well, a few problems we had were the fuel lines (the tool we had had everysize but one to fit mine so we had to use a little plastic peice from a cap to undo it (ghetto i know but it worked ) Another thing when we did the piston to valve clearence test the intake valve (2.00) hit the outside of the dish (the little slot on top of the piston) BARELY so we had to dremel the little dishes on the piston (intake side). That was the main things....I didn't have any egr because i took it all out when i did the longtubes, so im sure that probally helped alot not having all that crap in there. Also the block was left in the bay. Good luck when u get yours done, u will love it. I still smile about it everytime i drive it LOL and i have already gotten a TON of complements of how it sounds

How much did you have to clearance for the piston dish? I thought you didnt have to do this with that cam.

Yeah they were milled. The GM847 cam with 1.6 RR has like 595 lift...and that is a pretty big lift...

well we didn't have enough time to disassemble the block, so we mad a stencel of how big it should have been, and then taped the whole top of the block, and just cut out the intake side of the dish using the stencel.
