They arent as heavy as the slp one's. I did it to really stiffen up my car. (convertible) With a coupe you won't need them. The BMR SFC's will be fine.

If I could do it again, I would have just gotten some boxed scrap steel. Shouldn't be too hard to find. Just cut your length, weld it up to your frame rails, what's the difference? I even found some scrap laying around the farm, looked just like SFC's!

Yea, you could do it, but would it be worth it to save 200 bucks? Maybe, I guess, depending on how long it took you to fab it.

I built my own 12 bolt rear end from a 12 bolt truck rear.....I spent countless hours welding and cutting and engineering a torque arm bracket....major PITA. Im the end, I saved about 700 bucks over a strange. Was it worth it? It was a good expererience, but I probably had at least 700 bucks in time into it.....

oh.....and put one down for hotchkiss sfc's .....I think they work as well as any other.....

No I mean I found some steel already boxed up. All I would have had to do was cut them to length and weld.

Home made SLP's here . Cost me $40 for steel (really only used about $5 worth of the steel because there we had a lot left when we finished) and some time at my friends house . We also made some strut tower braces at the same time, and with both I noticed a definate improvement.

I plan to get Long Tubes, so I really cant lower the car. I just want to make this car really fun to drive, like it use to be when I first got it.

umiperformance - basically the same as the BMR boxed units. Very nice - fast friendly service.

Highly recommended.
