bad time at track

Angry bad time at track

94 z a4 3.23 gear not much tire spin , ran it 2x went 14.57 first run went 14.87 <2>.has 141,000 on clock , it is my everyday car . need to get to 13.70 if i can. any help? car is stock now does anyone know total timing on these cars? would changing a/f make diff?

I would do some mods to make it breathe better before messing with A/F.

get some 3.73 gears for that A4, a cold air intake, and an exhaust if you dont already have one, let it breath.

Cai and headers should get you there. Maybe faster

thanks guys will try some and let you know< will try bigger exhaust not headers to much $>would like to know timing+ total timing + when does total timing come in ?<what rpm>+a/f on my car i read where if your car can stand more total timing the better it will run .same with a/f if 14.7 in all ranges then this is to lean?< need to be 13.5 at wot? is this information right?

What track do you run at? What is your trap speed? If your at a track with a really bad DA, it might be tough to get down to mid 13s with just a few boltons.

Yeah what were track conditions? Those times sound more like stock L98 times than an LT1 time. My car ran 13.8 bone stock with 146k on the clock, and it's a '94 A4.

ok guys ran my car at route66 raceway here in il. temp was 70s sunny day 60ft. time 2.19 trap speed was 95. ran against my sons ls1 2000 z he has same gear as me <3.23> he ran 13.20 105. his 60ft. was 2.08

I've got BFG KWDS street tires and can go 1.9 60ft's in my stall-less a4, so get a decent tire and give the car a tune up before you go and dump money into mods. Once it's running good and around a high 13 do some modding.

all the timing and air/fuel is controlled by the PCM and you dont need to worry about that, let it do the work. you're not in SBC land anymore toto! seriously get a catback exhaust, cold air intake, gears, and a good tune up and you'll be in the 13.7 range all day long.

Hey bud I'm right here in IL too. When is the last time you did a tune up on the old girl?

If you ever want some tips or help on making her faster hit me up in a e-mail, or AIM.

The easiest way to snag 13.7's is to get your self a pcm tune. I recommend ION aka madz28.com. Then cold air intake, a cutout ($30), and that should be it. If you have spin, you can do one of two things. 1. Upgrade to aftermarket rear lower control arms with relocation brackets. Or 2. Drag radials.

66 is awesome track, it has wicked traction. I run 13.3's now. But at that track I was able to cut 13.8's with cold air intake, flowmaster muffler, and 3.73's. If I would of got her tuned she would of ran faster.

But if you ever want to bs or what ever about LT1's, hit me up.
