OK, I was in the process of building up a 383. The only things I have are the block and a crank. Now, I have always wanted a Procharger, even when I had the mustang. Would it be better to build the motor for boost then stick the Procharger on or just put the Procharger on a stock motor and wait for it to blow. My motor has 101,000 miles on it. It has been taken care of and does not have any oil leaks or anything of the sort. I just don't know which I would do first. Either way I am going to be dishing out around 5-6 grand to get it all done. What do ya'll think???

How much power are you wanting to make? Mild or wild?
I would recommend saving up and doing both at the same time. Build a motor (forged pistons, dropped compression, blower cam), then put the blower on at the same time. That's what I'm doing...
Depending on what parts you're going with, 5-6 grand may be cutting it close. A proper supercharged setup can run upwards of 10K -- again, depending on what your goals are. I'm getting 'nickel and dimed' to death...

I had my procharger on a stock lt1 and it was my daily driver. I was only getting 6lbs of boost from a 9lb pulley. I wanted to keep it at about 5,000 rpm b/c it WAS my daily driver. I would suggest building the engine for the procharger so you can get the most out of it. You can still drive it daily w/ no prob.
