I don't think you need a 9" anyway. I'm guessing your strictly a street car and do all of your racing there. If that's the case then even with slicks you should be fine. I don't see too many burnouts on the highways or street lights these days. And it's very rare to see anyone get enough traction on the street to lift the front tires up

As long as you avoid wheel hop your 10 bolt should be just fine. But if you ever do go to a track then you might want to launch easy or at least be prepared for the possibility of a tow truck ride home.

M6's are a little tricky to launch on the street. I would prefer a M6 in my Car, that way I can foot it just right to get it to bite without spinning all over the place. You can have a hell of alot more control over your car with a M6 than you can with a Stalled A4. That's one of the reasons I'm switching.

yea i know what you mean... but sometimes i hook alot better on the street... just depends... but trust me there is still plenty of street racing ... but so far (knock on wood) i have made around 20 passes at the track and plenty of street runs and my old 10 bolt is still going!

just messing with ya.

OP, if you end up with an auto you'll shortly learn that the single best thing is a high stall torque converter.

The 6-speed is where it's at. I street drive my car and love the manual. I can't see ever wanting an a3/4 for anything other than 1/4 mi racing.

As mentioned before a 5-3 down shift is bad ***, or if I have slicks on the car a 5-2 . I hit the wheels with 500 hp so a street tire is just a smoke bomb under 50-60 mph. It's a good time .

I used to think that way. Then I put a 4400 stall and 4.10 gears in my car. Not only is at a blast at the track but on the street it's insane.

I feel the same way about the 3 to 1 downshift in my car. Anything under 25 mph and forget it because I have no traction. But that 25-35 mph range will downshift to first and push me back in my seat in a most violent fashion

It's a very good time

Not to mention, a M6 is far superior when you are cruising on the freeway and someone wants a piece and you are rolling 70 MPH, i have rung it up to 140-150 or so with gear to spare
