Nice. That's a high 12 second quarter mile with lots of room to grow into the low 12's. The 1.9 60' is probably why your 10 bolt is still doing well. If you get much lower then that your 10 bolt might be on borrowed time.

Just save up little by little until you can afford a 9" or 12 bolt. Keep an eye in the for sale section too. I've had a few opportunities to buy a used 12 bolt for $1500-$1700 but passed them up since I have a more forgiving auto.

But eventually I'll get a 12 bolt with 3.73's. Then I can get a 150 wet kit & roll bar. Mid 10's sound good to me

Good luck with your car.

7.1's is low to mid 11's.. My car got 7.1's in the 8th and it ran a 11.19@120 in the 1/4. That was it as an Automatic, with a 1.56 60ft.

m6 all the way! auto's take the fun out of it. i don't care anyone else has, if it is a 350 or a 400, with what ever stall. i drove over an hour yesterday to Milan Dragway to have some fun and back. made a few passes, had a blast! yes my clutch is slipping as it is due for a new disk, I was hoping to make a 10.2-1.3x pass but was not in the cards! plus i wanted to make sure i could still get home, lol!!! this was on my 17" factory ss wheels! i did run 10.8 @ 113 mph, i lifted as soon as i grabbed 4th it started slipping. i guess almost 700 rwhp and 3750 #'s didn't agree with a well used clutch, lol!

the above is why i prefer an m6. still got over 20 mpg on the way home, lol!!! running almost 80 mph.

I am sure it pulls real hard, but I can also pull away from a light in 2nd then skip to fifth never going beyond 2,000 rpm. This helps save gas, and it lets the police know you are not looking for any trouble by keeping the exhaust within a reasonable DB limit.

It just boils down to what each person likes is best for them. I prefer the manual because it meets my driving wants and needs.

7.1's are good for low 11's. My 1/8 mile on my 11.53 run was 7.3 @ 93. Should be a lot of fun. You might want to wait a little before you spray though. Most places will kick you out quick for running low 11's with no roll bar.

But you can run 11.5's all day

I have owned a manual and it's not hard at all to drive my auto after that. In fact, I prefer the stalled auto.

I can drive in the city doing 0-40 while rarely hitting 2000+ rpm's. The only time I have to have raised rpm's is when I'm climbing up a hill.

I agree 100%. I wish more M6 guys worded thier posts like this. But unfortunately many feel the need to insult someone elses preference in an attempt to make themselves and or thier cars seem superior.

When in fact all they are really doing is showing thier ignorance on the advances and performance of the automatic transmission.

^^I've owned both, and for what I want to do, I want a T56..so I swapped.
That and the average life expectancy of an Automaric has been about 3 months in my Car, so I think the T56 will last a little bit longer..

That's not an entirely fair statement. I'm guessing you never had a well built TH400, 4L80E or powerglide. I can't imagine any of those autos not lasting a lot longer then three months in what I presume is a 9 second car.

The 4L60E will take you to the 10's but I have no faith in that transmission once you hit single digits. But the other transmissions I mentioned can and have been built to take a beating in single digit cars.

^^I don't know how you would consider my opinion and what I have been through fair vs. unfair.

I was going off of what you said, what the drivers preferances are. And my personal preference is that I want a T56 cause I miss driving a standard, and what I have had in the car for Automatics I blew them up, so personally I see the T56 lasting alot longer.

I'm not bashing on the Auto at all, just stating what I have been through. Yea, if I wanted to go all out Drag Car, it would have a TH350 in it with about a 4400 Stall, 4.10's and 28" Tires, that would put it into the 10's without a problem. I had a pretty medium setup with a 3600 Stall and 3.73's, and got it into the 11.1's on 26" Tires. 28" Tires probably would have gotten me closer to the 10's.

A Built Auto with a stall and some sticky tires!!!!!!!!! Less room for error over the M6! The A4 will launch on the M6 from the hole!

GM never made them bro..

It was Borg-Warner, now it's Tremec.

To re-word your Statement, it's the best and most reliable Transmission GM has put into their Cars.

For the most part, yes. I have seen some Standards pull 1.3X, 1.4X 60fts. There is a Fox Body Mustang video on Youtube, the guy cuts 1.32's and runs 9's with a Stock T5..it's kinda cool to watch.
