Default Electric Water Pump install

Just wondering how you guys deleted the w/p shaft, out of your timing cover? plug it off with what? need a little info. Thanx!

w/p comes with a copper plug

That it does, but thats for the w/p housing..Im talking about removing the w/p shaft, and PLUGGING the hole in the timing cover, where the shaft used to be...

I always wondered myself and a few W/P owners told me to just leave the gear alone and let it spin freely. Since you gotta remove the timing cover and all that jazz, I would just leave it alone.

I pulled mine out since i had the intake and everything off, then i plugged the timing cover with a freeze plug.

weld it or JB weld a plate over it but it still requires removing the cover

I removed mine, but couldnt find a freeze plug that would fit it, so I got the one that was just a little bigger than the hole and had a machine shop mill out the hold and press it in. worked out pretty good

Yeah we used an air porting tool and put a freeze plug in my buddies. This tool also came in handy while clearancing the housing. Go slow...you can always take out more. I must have took off material and refitted it at least 10 times.
