do you have a shift kit? if so what kind? a couple things could be happening. low/reverse clutch circuit maybe sticking, or a check ball may have forcing its way through the seperator plate, weak 1/2 accumulator spring, sticking 2/4 servo, or the 2/4 band is about worn. does the engine rev up during these shifts or no? also, what does the fluid look like/ smell like?

its normal red coloration..however it is below both holes..so i no it needs some added to it..i noticed today that in first gear itll lag alot also..like come to a complete stop..and jsut take off real easy..in first gear it...(kinda hard to explain) moves you front and back ya no liek its studdering..then it switches to seocnd ghear and it does teh stuck in mud thing..and then top end of 2nd gear it snaps out of it and drives normal..4l6..no shiftkit..what yall tihnk?

ya i put it in reverse and it did teh studder thing.

edit: its hard ot explain what it does in first and in reverse all i can say is that get in your car and rock yourself slightly front to back...thats what happens to me ..it also started a slight wine today..and i noticed at cruising i let off teh gas and it felt like i hit the mud puddle again jsut started lagging back..

not that i can think of, short of taking it apart. if i am right, though, i still think a shift kit will help. it may just be a sticking shuttle valve in the valvebody anyway(the work you'd do to put in a shift kit would fix that also).

ok guys get this..i load up to hit the trans shop..i lose all power and have to lag at around 5mph ..i get it ther tehe guy test drivesit..over heats it..and lets all the coolant boil out and tells me and i quote"shoulda bota ford"....me:..id never touch a ford piece of ****..."well theres your first mistake now push it outda way"..i manage to get it about..1/2 miel down teh road it overheats bad so i pull over..get it towed to midas..at baout this time i realized..i have no exhaust..wouldnt oyu no it..teh cat somehow exploed inside..the screens layed over went to the back end of the cat..and clogged up..so teh exhaust was going in and gong out teh same way..midas put one on..it ran ine then tehy hooked it to a scanner.nothing as damaged..so wow..i felt dumb/relieved..dumb because i had pinpointed teh tranny..it sure seemed liek it..especially goign tehre i lost all power so i figured i finally dropped second gear out..
