would not running an alternator cause ign. problems? Well basically Ive got these misfires past 5,500 that get really bad past 6,000..
Its positively NOT valve float, its gotta be ignition, and I was thinking I have no alternator or belt driven stuff.... would this affect the ignition even if I run an Optima Red top and charge for 1 hour at 200amps between passes?

yes, It can also cause fuel issues. Even if your running 12.5 Volts (which is the best you will probably get out of a fresh charge) Thats not enough ESPECIALY at high RPM where the load on the coil and fuel pump is high.
