why is my car running hot???
Take the T-stat out and boil it on your stove and make sure it opens... It should open well before the water actually starts to boil.
Are your fans coming on?
Do a pressure check on your radiator cap.

This could be as well...
Quick question did you bleed the system after you installed??? If you didnt' you probably have some air bubbles that are going crazy...

If you put it in a pot of hot water it will or well should open...
If your system wasn't bleed this makes alot sense. There are 2 bleed off vavles that release air in the system. Not all cars require being bleed after such an operation but these do...

First test the stat.... if water isnt' getting buy that just makes sense.. then reinstall.....now you have to figure if it was just not installed correclty..... really the only thing that could have gone wrong is the cap on the radiator... or didn't bleed the system of air.. I'm not sure how either one of those would cause coolant to spew out of your overflow... but I guess to make sense you would have to understand all of the science behind whats going on and I dont'... I'd try all of the above and see what happens... If none of this works you have an issue somewhere.
