Default Feedback on a new LT1-only forum...

Since there's pretty much only CZ28 and LT1Tech, how would you guys feel about an entirely new LT1-based forum? I'm thinking about starting one (still thinking up the domain name) with vbulletin, but I want to gauge some interest first since this will be coming out of my own pocket for a while until we can build up our membership.

Thanks guys.

Well it would be cool if you could build up the membership, but considering the vast amount of LT1 material cz28 has, it might be difficult to get people to spend time there.

If you could afford to advertise it at all, it might work though.

Here is a thought...there are a ton of LT1 members here that don't even know *this* forum exists. Why not? Because they don't look then wonder where I picked up some info on their LT1 or get routed to the other sites listed. Granted they are informative but slim and I've never seen as many LT1's (particularly 92'-97') as there are here.

If you started a specific site with the word passed round it wouldn't take long to take off. Do consider the 'down' time of winter though - actual 'working' posts tend to drop off with more bs posts in general.

I think it could work depending on how you set it up. The camaroz28 forums are pretty much the LT1 resourse on the net right now. However, I personally would like to see a forum dedicated to the more hardcore LT1 crowd. There are a lot of people out there that are still racing their LT1's and going with more "exotic" setups. Something that would appeal more to the more hardcore racer would be welcomed imo.

I'd be interested in a new forum and it would be good if it wasn't dedicated to just Camaros and Firebirds. I have a hybrid car wiith an LT1 in a totally non-chevy chassis using a tranny that doesn't interact with the PCM. I love the engine but it's been a bitch at times trying to find the information I need to solve problems.
A central site that is LT1 specific and hard core technical like this site would definitely attract my attention. If all it's about is which cam this or which header that or what would I run then I would lose interest quickly.

I think it's a good idea, but i love this site...so much info, so i'd stay here if this forum got going a little more....just my opinions.

Yeah just make sure it has the same style format as this one.
People like all the options as far as posting , and i think that is what made this site so sucessfull compared to others.

i hate cz28 and will never ever go there for tech info. too much time spent correcting everyone. i'll sell stuff there but that's it.

if you make another forum i'd check it out. right now i just hit up here and fbody.com for lt1 tech stuff.
