^put a good air fuse in and the engine light will go away.

For a 97 you WILL get a check engine light no matter what but it will not harm anything.

I just removed mine and tied back the wiring. Plugged the line coming from my CAI. Super easy.

I did mine and it was really easy to do....did basically what the last guy did, but I think the wire is just hanging there I need to get it zipped tied up sometime. I also did the egr at the same time, pretty easy as well except for the fact that it is kinda hard to get to the bolts on the back of the intake. If you decide to do the egr too you will need to get a block off plate and I used a rubber cap for one of the small vacuum lines that goes to the intake.
I had the air/egr stuff tuned out of my car so I don't get any engine lights or anything. I do get lights for when I removed my traction control stuff, but thats a whole nother story...hehe.

I removed mine (97 also) with no problems at all. No codes, or anything. The car runs the same, except it will fail a "startup emissions" test, so be careful depending on where you live. (The "hot emissions" tests are unaffected.)

The best thing about dumping the A.I.R. pump is that you get way better access to the plugs and some of the accessories.
