sound similar to cc 918's on pressures
the 918's are ls1 springs but work on lt1's

Shouldn't be any problem there, the beehive springs don't have or need huge pressure number to control the valves.

do your self a big favor and replace the lifters. Especially if your motor has some decent miles on them. It's not uncommon for LT1's to run into collapsed lifters, even in bone stock motors. I'm one of them.

What are some good brands of lifters besides comp's. I dont think I have any lifter problems at the moment, but want to plan ahead somewhat. I did a full cam install with springs etc, but did not change the lifters at the time.

Dont buy lifters from comp they suck, espessially the comp rs. Some stock replacement lifters or your stock ones, if in good shape should work fine.

I think it would be a good idea to do the springs and then the cam...would save having to do it all at once.
