Default Coated or uncoated?

Alright guys, I need to know this question pretty fast, otherwise I won't be able to get the same deal tomorrow. I have a choice of getting a set of pacesetter LT's (uncoated) for 275 shipped. Or I can get a set of pacesetter Lt's (coated) for 385 shipped? The matching Y-pipe for both of them will be an additional 125 if I choose to get them. (Which I will) What do you guys think I should do? Should I go with coated or uncoated? Is it that much of a difference? Over time won't the coated end up rusting anyway, or chip or something? Thanks

Coated so they don't look rusty after a short while. Coated will also keep the temps down in your engine bay.

I am going to get uncoated and use the money else-where. You can always heat-wrap your headers, doesnt look as clean but I don't really care.

Heat wrap can also collect oil if there is any kind of leak. Had a buddy that had an underood fire that way.

The price difference between coated and un-coated is negligible when people start walking up to your car and going...eeeewwww, look at those rusty headers.

You're kdding right? Header wrap is for cars who buy new headers every year. Header wrap on headers traps moisture and causes rust.
This is what happens when you wrap headers

Alright guys, thanks for all the help. I went ahead and got the "coated" pacesetter Lt's with the matching Y-pipe. I think I should be happy with that. I'm hoping at least a 10hp gain.

Yeah anyone who knows a damn thing will tell you coated for a street car and most even prefer it on race cars. Not just anti rust but as mentioned keeps heat inside the headers instead of radiating underhood.

Yep, it's better to go with the coating, it's more expensive but you will regret it if you don't.

I'm really happy I went with the coated now. I know I would have regret it later like your saying. Especially if it rusted through or something...
