Default What is the best way to launch with a 6 speed

I am going to the track this week and have never taken this car down the track. So I was wondering what you all would recommend for launching the car on street tires. I know the ls1 6 speed either bog or spin. Does someone have a good rpm to launch at or suggestions?

relax it is more feel as you go. It is going to vary with how much bite your getting. Just try different things and see what works best for you. It isnt like you can only run it once.

The tires are new and seem pretty sticky. Not dump the clutch sticky but sticky. So 2000 is a good place to start then?

i did it that way for a while, almost pulled the front tires and then it would bog and fall on its face, till about 20 mph, (2000 rpm's) then take off again.

then I started to rev to about three grand, slightly slip the clutch untill about 20 mph, around 35-40' started pulling better 60' times, untill I got more power, then with the blower I could launch at 1800 rpm's and blow the tires off, then with the turbo, I could go back to launching at three grand and not bog, then just before the 60' mark, it would start to blow the tires off. Then I would grab second spin them for a bit then hook and take off.

but on stock tires, most will bog or spin, kind of a nasty lt1 habit.

UNless you have a clutch like mine which specifically says not to slip it.. The best way is to slip the clutch to like 2800 and dont pop it real fast but mor eof a smotth motion..You can launch harder that way without demolishing the tires... Thats on a decent street tire if it spins start lower and if it bogs slip it higher

My best was easing out at 2200 and hammering down after the clutch was all the way out. I cut a 1.9 on continental street tires, so not bad.

Launching by sound and feeling seem to work out better than going strictly by the numbers. Overall it just takes practice. The more you do it, the better you'll get. I launch around 2500 to 3000, without dumping the clutch. The launch is slightly better if you ease it quickly.
