Default Stall Noise....

So i went to my track yesterday, and i got a great 60'fte. I have a 28-32 stall, so i did an alright burnout, not any smoke, but i sat in the box. Then when i got up to the light i stalled it up at 2000 and it sounded like somone hit the trany with a hammer, it was a loud bang. I am wondering what it is? And input is great.

congrats, on your new times, get your 60' down to 1.8's I know you can do it with what you have. check your torque are mount, as well as your trany mount.

Is the time in your sig current with your mods listed? If so , it seems like something is not working properly. A 1.9 is terrible with 4.10 gears and any type of stall converter. The trap speed seems way low as well.
I agree with everyone as well. It sounds like your tranny mount. Easy fix. Good luck.

Yea, those are my mods, cept for the LTs i just got those in, and for the stall, i never new how to launch her so i always launched her at 1500 even after i got my stall in, now im learning how to laucnch. "whynot" has helpd me by telling me how to get it up in higher rpms. I went out on sat. i ran my new best in sig, and i got that best 60' ft. I need to get my tires hotter, i spin em but no smoke, and i got to launch higher, the best i lauchd at on sat. was like 1900-2000 cuz the guy double staged so i didnt have time. As for the bang i just got my tranny mount replaced, and i drove home like i stole it thinking that was the problem, but there was no noise like that at all on the way home. SO i am confused on what it is....................I live in boise idaho, our track is 2700ft up here to so our times are lets say......not great, and on sat we had a big ******* headwind, not makin excuses guys, but i garuntee i do better next sat.

yes, there was a head wind, at times almost 30 mph, but yes, there is something wrong with his car, something that will be fixed shortly, that is evident by his trap speed, shows he has some where around 244 horses at the wheels. and by his et shows 266 hp to the ground.

http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/4601/hpcalc.html

however, things will be done on his car shortly to fix that.

one is a partialy pluged cat, he even told me that he can smell it when he has been riding it hard.

two is stock plugs and wires, and 130,000 miles

and three, he just ordered his lt's so when they get put in, with all of these, as well as a few misc. things, tb coolant bypass, and a little more drive time. It will gain somewhere up to a second off.

in my first post, it was supposed to be torque arm mount, not torque are.

gears are kind of like a cam when it comes to most people, it works great for others so thats what I need.

and for others, if its out of the norm. then it can't work all thow some times it does, kind of like when people started to put gm 847's in lt1's and people were saying that cam was to big, and on stock heads people are putting down 350 +/- horse power to the ground.

you need to set up your gears so you are just at the end of you 1:1 transmition gear at the end of the quarter for the best performance. so by that, is should be one of the last mods to do, but for the gain, why not?

by the way, on a 26" tall tire, and running to 5700 rpms, is shows he is good for 107 mph

You're gonna lose HP off the torque converter. Get it dyno tuned, your speedo may be off with the 4.10's and stall. You're really lacking a tune and it needs to be.

Well here is the thing, im going to get a compression test after my LTs are on, if i pass im going to look into a mild cam. Then once the cam is in ill tune it, there is no need to tune her more than nescacary, its going to have to be a chip ne way so...and my speedo is off by like 40mph. I love it, makes me feel good when i look at my speedo going thro the traps at 130 but really its like 95. ehhehehehe. I plan on gettin dynod eventualy i just dont want to be disaponted with not seeing good numbers.
