Default LT1 Race

Well, I got into a race with a 97 Z28 M6. (I have a 94 A4 Z28) His car was stock and he was a good driver. We went from 50-115 and I beat him by about a car and a half. I didn't think this made much sense. Not only does his car have 10 more hp, but it was an M6 and they have higher trap speeds. I would think from a roll I would get beat. My car is modded though. I have a moroso CAI, LT4 KM, LT pacesetter headers and underdrive pulleys. All he has is a K&N. Still, I would think up top he would pull a bit. I thought the 94 A4 Z28 quarter mile was about 97-98 while a 97 Z M6 was about 101-104. Am I right?

I should show you guys the video I made. Anyone have a quick server I can upload it to?

lol, I know. It still is broke. This happened before the timing chain. I just never posted about it. I was more interested in the timing chain.

I believe the main reason the 95-97s were rated with 10 more hp was because they went with the different y-pipe cat setup. So by removing your more restrictive exhaust pieces and going to long tubes - you're the one with the hp advantage.

I'm pretty sure it was 96-97 that were rated the extra 10hp. Anyway, I still have an A4. I would just think MPH wise he could take me. I would figure about 250Rwhp (stock) in my car with LT's 260Rwhp, CAI, 265Rwhp. I think that's pretty much where I am at. His car (stock) should be around 265Rwhp, not to mention if we had the same hp, he would still have a better top end. At least this is what I thought...

By the way, the video is too large. The max size is 25mb and my video is 34mb.

The race with the Z is at the end. I couldn't get the view from when we first started, but I started pulling right away and that was the result. Also, the GT that I raced in the video had full bolts and dynoed around the same Rwhp as the mustangs comes stock to the crank. He runs 8.7's on the motor in the 1/8. It's pretty obvious he gets the hit the first two times. In the third race we both hit it at the same time, but you can hear me spinning a bit. (He has DR's) Actually, I think I spin in every race except for the 2nd run against the GT and the run against the Z.

Once I get DR's, I'll be at about a 13.2 Glad to see your car actually runs now.

Nope, that was before the timing chain snapped...I took my car to a different mechanic and I'm going to find out the update tomorrow. I saw the pushrod that was bent though. There was one that was bent and the chain just completely broke. Also, one of the gears was missing a tooth. Most likely, that had something to do with the incident. Hopefully only one valve is bent. I would think it would just be the one where the pushrod was bent. I'm not sure though...

Im sure the dealership liked it when you returned their $50000 car with rubber all over the wheel wells.

Actually, I didn't see any rubber on the back. (I guess I got lucky) I mean come on here, I had to test the car out to make sure it had potential.
