Maybe it's work but you should be take the safe side for your engine, you need a good space between the valve and piston.

My friend car is Camaro LT1 mods: Daimond pistons, Eagle Rods, LT1 ported heads, custom cam from FMS 234/242 575"/595 112LSA

The specs for the GM847 are: 234/242 @ 0.05" 0.574"/0.595" @ 112LSA. And it's always a good idea to check clearances.

I'll be installing my new cam soon and it's 248 int./254 exh. 0.562 int./0.580 exh. lift, 110 and it's hydraulic cam. That's with 1.5 RR. Was told not to use 1.6 RR to avoid piston to valve clash. I will use my 1.52 comp cams magnum RR.

A friend has it on his 383 LT1 with TF heads and it's awasome cam but not a DD.

You should be fine with that cam but if that is with 1.6 RR, I would suggest 1.52 RR to be on the safe side. Check your piston to valve clearence specially the exhaust valve since it's very close with.0595 lift.

GM847 has 0.539 int./0.558 exh. lift with 1.5RR. 0.574"/0.595" is with 1.6 RR.

ooh.. you are right man, both are same so why did they call it is custom grind from FMS and already he is GM847??

At this time, i'm trying to change my cam with same my setup, i hope to find something more aggressive than old cam. checkout this custom grind from FMS 237/244 .575"/.595" 114 LSA. this cam is already install it.

thats all up to you... how much are you willing to give up on driveability?

but really i would figure out what your heads are going to flow to see what cam you car will want... just becuase its a big cam doesnt mean its going to be faster then a smaller cam.

oh and im running 600 lift and i checked my piston to valve clearence and its got plenty of room.

im running the 847 on stock ported heads with no problem, Driveablity isn't really that bad, ok my car idles like a dragster, but its untuned right now. I will get heads and a tune real soon, and hope to smooth out the car alittle.
