Default Long tubes

How hard is it to install long tube headers i am looking at getting eather the kooks or the stainless steel works. I have heard i have to lift the motor is this true? When i do these headers i am doing heads and i am doing a clutch so the tranny and bell housing will be off. Any help would be great. Which headers and y-pipe are better kooks or stainless steel works?
Thanks

When i installed mine this spring i had to unbolt the steering knuckle on the drivers side, and on the passanger side i had to undo the mount ant lift it about an inch or two to get it to slide in right. if your doing it without a lift try to get the car as high off the ground as possible it will make life alot easier.

go with the Kooks. there the best header ive seen. QTP is right along with them. cant beat the detail in welds and airflow tube design!

I put Kooks on my car early this summer. The hardest part was getting the old stuff out. Damn rusted bolts. Cutting it out was a lot easier. I love my headers too. You do have to raise the engine but its not near as hard as it sounds. just loosen the motor mount or unbolt it, depending on how much room you need and then jack the engine up with a block of wood. If you want you can also drop the engine and tranny together. would make it all a lot easier especially with the clutch and heads. Have fun

when u order the headers from kooks u need to get the band clamps for the y pipe, O2 extensions and you need to find caps or crapy O2s to cap the O2 bungs in the Y pipe. if your tunning the car take the O2s out of the header bungs and put them in the y pipe bungs and cap the header bungs.

Why do you do that? So i shouldnt run o2 sims just the o2 sensors on extesions. Why do i buy clamps just from kooks?
