LT1 > LS1? Some ideas why...hehe
Lets take a LT1 car and comvert normal smallblock heads to work on it. These smallblock heads will flow just the same as the stock LS1 heads. Then, for comparisons sake, lets put a cam in the LT1 that has the identical specs as the LS1 cam. Im willing to say, after doign these two things and making the motoes "even", that the LT1 would take the LS1. If it doesn't beat it it will run side by side (but im sure it will beat it).
So at this point, the only thing the LSx motors have on the LTx motors is weight... but im not afraid of 100 lbs. The LSx f-bodys are supposed to be heavier than the LTx cars anyways.
Any opinions on this?
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time

That's not why we do it. We do it because you can bore the iron blocks out more than the aluminum ones. The 98 blocks can only take a light hone. I'm not sure I totally agree with the bang for the buck thing either. LS1's and their aftermarket parts are getting cheaper and cheaper all the time, with all the competition. You might spend a little bit more on an LS1, but you get 40rwhp extra and a huge aftermarket. The bang for the buck value between the cars is pretty close.

anyone have a link to these heads?? They sound SICK...
Seems the best heads right now beside normal heads being converted are the best Ai heads.
And someone who has converted heads should tell of the process to help out their LTx brethren (spelling i know.. lol)

I think many of the LSX owners switch over to iron blocks (LQ9) becuase the iron block can hold the boost or 200-300 shot of gas without twisting like the Aluminum does. And it accepts more honing like somone else said.
and how about some 18* or 15* heads... what would it take to get some to work on the LTx motor.... if we can do that we will be on a level playing field with the LSx motor

Im personaly going with 18* heads that Brodix offers. They claim you can use a standard valvetrain with them and they flow 320 cfm out the box. Just have to convert to rever flow cooling. Im sure no ported stock head will touch the perfomace you coudl get out of these. 2.14 intake valves.. WOW. only $2000
