In IL, you can have "show car" status by carrying show car insurance. Submit that to the state and you'll be good to go. My mileage is limited to 3k for the year though.

Do it! The sound is definitely better. I don't know if I have heard Hooker but I have Magnaflow and I love it this way.

could someone help me on this...So I disconnect my flowmaster exhaust from the cat. The cat is in stock position with stock y pipe and all. So then I stick something into the cat and move it around to break the inside??? And then how to I get the junk inside out?? Also what sort of tool would I use to bust the inside out?? thanks for the help

how to gut a cat.

start with a sharp knife,
grab cat and flip over,
cut from nuts to neck,
reach in and remove guts.

The magnaflow will sound like *** with a gutted cat... i still couldn't believe that i drove my car around sounding like that. Also if your a 95 or older and you have to take a IM240 test for emissions theres a 90% chance you will FAIL the test reguardless on what mods you have.

You are better off buying an ORY but if you want to save some money just cut out the cat ,get a piece of pipe the same size with flared ends and clamp it in.

Well I'm going to have to disagree there, because that's what I have and I think it sounds awesome.

Did you have headers or a cutout or something else?

stock manifolds & stock y-pipe with a pipe in place of the cat and the magnaflow cat back... all the rasp and crackling during accel sounds like **** it sounded better with the hollow cat in place rather then that pipe IMO... but peoples opinion's are different from mine.

Ok yeah, I still have the hollow cat, there's hardly any rasp that I can hear.
