Whats a good cam kit?
Nitrous 100 shot
stock internals
rebuilt trans
3.73 rear end
long tubes
ory
hooker cat back
52mm throttle body
I want some power with a really bad deep rumble.
I am looking at comp cams xe, but which would would be best for a semi daily driver?
I plan on doing a 2400 stall.
THanks

cc305 is tiny (i have a hotcam so i'm not talking **** about it, and this guy obviously wants more than the barely choppy idle of a cc305). if you want an XE grind then the cc503 is a great and EXTREMELY streetable one. for a semi daily driver you may want to check out the XE 230/236 also. it's a little bigger but still has good street manners. the XE grinds have a little steeper ramp rate than most and keep up good vacuum.
edit- i'd go a little bigger than a 2400 stall........

off topic but you wouldn't happen to have a sound clip or video or your car would you? I'm going to running the exact same exhaust setup you have on your car on my 96.
Good luck with the cam setup up too.
Check out the CC306, good power you will need a high stall though, and don't forget hardened pushrods cause i don't think 96 had them.

I run the XE224/230 503 with LE2 heads and the car is very drivable. About once or twice a week I drive it to work about 100 miles round trip. Does great at the drag strip as well.

Just so you know, we are doing LT1 Cam kit specials right now.
I just didn't post on this board because of the overwhelming majority LS1 cars.

I was able to find some of the info though, it seems that a combination of the following things has fixed it for most people.
1. raise the rev limiter
2. lower the 1-2 shift MPHs
3. set the 2-1 shift MPHs lower than the 1-2 values
4. delete DTC 24
5. Set the Low PRNDL speed threshold values to the max
6. Set the VSS Diagnostic Minimum Enable RPM to the max

Shameless plug for me, but this is exactly what you need. Best of the best here, what I made 357 rwhp with completely stock heads and a 12 bolt.

well I have tried the first 3, but havn't ran the car with a good tire, seems to only happen when you run a DR or Slick. On street tires it hasn't happend yet
