Default got the engine back in....issues

It's a 96 LT1 and on the back of the intake manifold in the center there is a "bolt" piece that comes up and has another "bolt" going 90 degrees into it. The second bolt (sideways) has a hole in it. What does this piece do? I don't know what goes in that hole, but I do know with nothing in there, oil comes out. Lots of it.

Also, as we lost oil, my clutch started staying down near the floor. Are these things related?

Thanks in advance!

Definately the Oil pressure sending unit. Did you not notice that you had ZERO oil pressure on the gauge? The oil more than likely leaked down to your clutch and will be slipping. Hope thats not the case.

That wouldn't make the pedal not come back up, would it?

No but a bad master or slave cylinder would. Check for a fluid leak on both and Im sure you'll find that problem.
If oil leaked on the clutch, you probably need a new one and possibly need to resurface the flywheel.

My oil leak ruined my clutch plate when I was M6. After removing it, I went auto. Ironically, I think I have the oil leak fixed and the torque converter will never go bad due to oil leak, lol.

werd to Tony.

There's TWO places to screw in the sending unit. There, and also above the oil filter fitting. Use one and block the other one off (ie. with the appropriate threaded bolt and some thread sealant).

Todd........his is a 96............all 96's have the oil sender up top behind the intake. He would have to cut and lenghthen the sender wire to move it down to the bottom above the oil filter.

I got the sender in and there's no leak anymore. The problem with the clutch is that the ball on the ram that pushes the clutch fork keeps slipping out of the hole it's supposed to sit in. Any theories on that?
