Call A.I. or elliot. They both will hook you with emissions legal cams.

u can go through lloyd elliot to talk to bret bauer or the guys at AI. you could run a decent cam with some 1.6s and then go back to 1.5s for the inspection.

From what lloyd told me it's not the lift that will cause it to fail. It is the overlap in the cam, what he suggested to me was running more duration with a higher lsa. {example: 230/236 115 lsa }. Car craft went to eldebrock and they tol them nothing over 220/220 but that is at 112

Yes duration has a huge effect on emissions but at the same time you want to make power, the question is are the heads ported. If they are a low duration, high lift cam would be ideal. I found this nice article, it goes with what I have learned from Bret.

Yeah i went with 1.65 ratio rockers to put me at around .540 lift to where the heads flow a little better. They have been ported i have flow #'s what do one of those custom cams run kinda on a budget spent alot on my shortblock and going to sell my Hotcam to cover part of a new cam.I was looking at the cc 305 and the cc 503 but if a custom is in the price range of $250 im there

The thing with a custom cam, Bret recommends you go with his valve train setup, there is special reasons why, because the cam is going to be big, but at the same time when it comes time to pass emissions you will be able too. I have header cc305's passing in CA

Try and keep your overlap in the -3 or less range.
