What else would I need to go along with that? A new wire set?

If it cuts sharply at about the same rpm each time, then it may be your opti. Two of my friends currently have opti problems with their cars. Both cars cut out bad at 4700rpms. One of the cars had this issue about 6 years ago and it was covered under warranty. You can see a drop at that rpm on the dyno and after that is does smooth
out to what it is before 4700.

ya it always cuts out between 4500 and 5500 rpms... When I first got the car it wanst doing it as bad... It would just kinda bog out, now it cuts out almost completely
Does it make sense though that it runs ok before the car is warmed up? I can usually get on it one time and then it will start acting up...
Thanks

I had a similar situation on my '94 t/a, but it was a bad oxygen sensor.... It couldn't be anything else, since I just did my opti, wires and spark plugs about two months ago. You should start with O2 sensors. I also agree that it could be the knock sensor. One more thing to consider... I think carb cleaner would damage your mass air flow sensor......

So I think I fixed my problem.... I drove about 60 miles to a buddies house so he could maybe help me fix the car and when hes looking under my hood he notices the vacumn line for the fuel pressure regulator is unhooked... We hook it up and take it for a spin and it runs great now.. lol

Another Opti off the hook! A lot of people never find the cause of this condition primarily, I think, because they can't tell the difference between bogging and a misfire. In a high mileage LT1, there are so many things that can kill the high RPM's. As often as this stuff happens, I'm surprised there's not a set of clear troubleshooting instructions on this site. We have plenty of know-how here.

Well the car has been running good ever since i hooked that vacumn line back up so im guessing that was the problem.... The car pulls awesome now... all the way to 150 and had more to go. haha
