Leakdown test would shed some light on what the prob really is. Does it smoke or any other symptoms?

When doing a compression test, you should have a gauge that will hold the highest pressure reading. When you turn the motor over, it will slowly build up higher with each stroke. When it stops climbing, thats your reading.
All cylinders should be within 10% of each other for a stock motor.
If you had a head gasket blow, you will most likely see coolant in your oil. Sometimes the gasket can fail between two cylinders though, and that wouldnt show any coolant in the oil.
When my motor went, it wouldnt build over 30psi in cylinder #1 no matter what. My #5 was fine, but #7 was at 70psi. The rest of my cylinders were all between 145psi and 155psi.
If your not sure about the results of your compression test, do a leakdown test, it will definitely let you know whats going on.

Well you need atleast 100 psi to fire it sounds maybe you have a blown headgasket between 3&5 do the leakdown test like the other guys said

coulden't this be a case of pre-ignition if the pressure build up,goes down and then hits the max on the same stroke or detonation??Air in the cooling system,to rich etc..

uh, he's not igniting fuel to do a compression test.
It does sound like it could be a blown head gasket between the two cylinders though. That could explain why he gets erratic readings. Like I said, a leakdown test would confirm the culprit.
Pre-ignition from the juice could very well have caused a blown head gasket. Whenever you get it fixed, you should have your tune checked to make sure your not detonating when you spray.
Good luck!
