As I said on the other board IMO the cam is already too big and your money would be better spent on heads if you want more power.

I'd say the GM847 or a custom cam.

cc305 i hear or the GM847 from what ive seen...even the lt-4 hot cam kit is good if you are on a budget and a set of 1:6 rockers will give you a bit more lift too

The 305 is a lot smaller and the 847 is a tiny big bigger, the HOT is smaller than the 305 and not a one of them is as good as their popularity suggests all are OLD grinds and technology and experiance have advanced. Did you eve read is question?

It can definitely be streetable with the right tuning, as long as you don't mind the very lopey idle.

Mind the lopey idle, hell nah!!!! I can't see why anybody would not want a lopey idle unless their trying to hide something.

The Comp 306 is streetable. A good tuner can get some of the lope out of it. On an A4 it would be less streetable than it would in front of an M6. The Comp 305 and Hot cam are both old cams as suggested above, but proven winners. There are better cams out now, since technology has improved a bit. I am happy with my Hot cam. It is a daily driver that puts out 380/363 and has gone a best of 11.90 at Ennis. Pretty good numbers, but there are probably more streetable cams now that would give me a power increase and still be tame. Any suggestions.

You guys have mentioned better technology and better cams in several posts but never posted up anything that is similar to the hotcam or 305 that is so much better?

When they are saying better tech I think they are referring to the custom cams that are out now. You can call up a place like combination motorsports and tell them what you are wanting from a cam and they can help you out.

my 250/256 cam is plenty streetable for me!! i think this question is based on opinions and everyones is different. why dont you list your mods. cam specs are not the only thing to consider when chosing a cam.

I have a cc306 in my Z. It's a 383 and I drive it about 500 miles a week. I live a long way from the college I go to. So I would say it is plenty streetable... I get 15 MPG with a 383 with a TH350. The idle really isnt "that" lopey either... very noticeable but doesnt really shake the car much

You have a 383, that is why it is alot more streetable.

you have to choose the cam that works with your combination, not the biggest. Then you can choose from there. but if you just wanted a huge cam, you can run the biggest one that you want only if you could deal with it. everyone uses the term streetable in different ways. i consider my car streetable and i do drive it vary often.

here are my cam specs, it's a solid roller

Good post! That is a hefty cam. What is your whole setup?

what kind of dyno numbers are we looking at with a custom cam by one of the reputable shops that is comparable in streetability to the hotcam? Lt1 with the basic boltons(headers, intake, catback, pulley, free mods) backed by an A4 and obviously tuned.
