Default How fast are STI's?

Sorry if I'm not posting in the right section.

I was just curious how quick the STI's are. What kind of stock quarter mile times do they get? Could a bolt on LT1 take one from a roll? I know the STI's are pretty sick from a dig.

If the driver knows how to launch the machine properly they can hit bottoms 13s. Their traps suffer though, run one on the highway and you'll have an easier time dealing with them. They're no joke though, and can be modded easily.

Motortrend ran 13 flat with their test vehicle and I beleive someone ran 12.8 stock. With simple mods low 12 are easy(tune and turboback add about 60wtq and around the same whp).
STIs are not highway cars because that wing does actually do something and creates plenty of drag(traps increase 2-4mph when wing was removed) plus the all-wheel drive sucks roughly 18-25% of the power from going to the wheels while adding lots of weight. On top of all this the gear box is far from a drag racing peice because its geared so shortly.
Basically, be kind because these are not the best straightline cars.

most here run mid 13s to a 14 flat, depending on driver, i dont think they can hit the 12s stock unless you are like a NASCAR driver or pro drag racer.

My friend ran a 13.0 bone stock in his 04 STI, they're pretty quick if you can drive them.

The trannies and clutches on the STI are exceptional you must be thinking about the Evos and their transaxle problems/weak clutch.
Stock trannies w/ a 6 puck clutch are holding 600whp/550wtq the clutches are good past 300whp.
AWD systems arent the greatest for launching, but when done properly it doesnt do any(maybe a little) harm and really jump hard(STIs beat Ford GTs/Z06s to 40 - again according to motortrend's test numbers)
But ill say again, the 6 speed ratios are super short(1st gear is about 25 mph, and 2nd is about 55 and it gets worse - for drag racing - from there)

I seen a WRX with some mods putting down 13.4's @ 100, and traction was terrible at my track. He was pulling 1.89' 60's, I was pullin 2.1's with drag radials.

My friend ran a 13.06@103 in his bone stock. He recently ran I think a 12.7@106 with just an exhaust/dp.

This is the case with the WRXes, but I haven't heard of this happening much on the new 6-speeds in the STIs. They're a lot beefier.
