Big Solid Roller, and my heads??
i have 383 , I got 195 comp port AFR heads, comp 306 cam, ported lt4 manifold, hooker long tubes, etc etc.
this car has been sitting for a while and i have decided to go full drag car, but on a budget, i was wondering can go with a big solid roller cam, and still keep those heads and make decent power??, or do i need to change heads to make decent power? also if i go solid, what lifters pushrods and springs are the most popular, and how big of a cam should i go with, until i am reaching a point where i am not making that much more power.

i would say go with bigger heads man i have the same heads on my 396 LT4 and they are whats holding me back, and with a solid roller you will have even more air going in and out thsoe heads.

then i would say to use the heads you got just get some who knows what there doing to do a nice port job on them, but if you could get new ones then i would go with the AFR 210's, or the LE3 heads.

Ryne, be careful where you get your information. Your AFR 195 castings are the same as the AFR 210 castings. The 210s just have more work to them.
I prefer the 210s over the 227s. If I were in your position right now, I would just have a little more work done to your heads, flow them, then give those numbers to Cam Motions and have them grind you a solid roller. With good tuning, your car will fly.
My solid roller 396 w/AFR 195s ported to ~211cc was trapping 126mph with a fairly small cam. That was before dyno tuning and running 17" rims on all 4 corners.
Sent you a PM as well.

you should be fine, here is my cam specs, 264/270 @ .050" .631" lift w/110LSA
this is a huge solid roller and i only use a set of ported RGR stage II heads, these are LT1 cast heads, not LT4. i went 10.98 @125 with a super tight nitrous converter on horsepower only, no spay let. your AFRs flow more then these LT1 cast heads do.
