LT1 engine build up at Exotic Performance Plus
http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=37 Check this LT1 Trans-Am out. Hopefully we have this T/A back up and running next week. We are currently waiting on the Canton oil pan to show up. Bob

Looks similiar to the motor about to be on my engine stand. Victory racing Forged 9:1 compression, Ported LT4 AFR heads, LT4 intake and monoblade setup and when it comes in my D1SC bolted to it. I will get pics when I get the charger in and the shortblock.

What size combustion cambers did you get?

Thanks everyone! The Trickflow heads are box stock, we'll see what the engine does with them bone stock. Splayed caps won't be needed, we're not going to be revving this engine past 9000 rpm... lol The compression ratio will be in the 9.5/1 range, ideal for adding an ATI ProCharger in the future. Bob

I have basically the same with probably a little bit better head, slightly bigger duration cam, Monoblade, and I have a D1SC plan on pushing 15lbs through a FMIC.
what kind of hp numbers are you thinking will it put down and about what kind of price are you looking at
I have seen lt1's with stock heads hit clost to 500
Looking good! What else did you find wrong with the motor? Low 200rwhp something was bad wrong!

The cam was not getting oil, which was a little strange. All new parts went it, and we are pre-oiling it prior to start up, making sure the valvetrain sees oil. It is hard to say what the horsepower will be at on our Mustang Chassis Dyno, stock LT1's dyno at 195 rwhp on it. I'd be happy with 350 rwhp or so. Once the ATI ProCharger is installed, I'd expect to see 500rwhp without having to push a lot of boost. The owner of this T/A plans on doing some roadracing with it. Bob

I took this right off the front page of your site:
We were only seeing rwhp in the low 200 range, almost what these LT1 cars get bone stock!
Since when do LT1's get low 200's bone stock? I know guys that have hit 275-280 RWHP in their stock LT1's.
Edit: Missed your response. Got it now.

Naturally if you do the engine removal, rebuilding, and the reinstallation of the engine, you can save a lot of money.
We just recently finished a 383 LT1 in a one owners 192,000 mile '94 Corvette. With an ATI ProCharger at only 8 psi of boost, we made 475 rwhp on my Mustang Chassis Dyno. This engine should last another 192,000 miles with only 8 psi of boost. This would be 520 or so rwhp on a Dynojet dyno, well over 600hp at the engine. Bob
