Default Heads

Is it better and do you make more power it the heads are CNC ported or is it better to have them done by hand?

Depends on the quality of the ports. CNC stuff has to be based on a hand ported head, the ports are then digitized so the CNC can duplicate that exactly over and over. It comes down to the quality of the work not how it was done.

Yes Lloyd does hand port. Now I am not saying go with Lloyd but experianced head porters can be suprizingly consistent and I think you are doing it right focusing on a few shops with a lot of LT1 experiance.

I have parts on the way and will weigh in on how I feel about the shop I chose AFTER I have run the parts, I know that doesn't help you now though. Really though both shops have a lot of positive feedback don't think you can go "wrong" with either.

I agree, so go ahead and flip that quarter. I also don't think you will go wrong with either.

I was going to go with LE2's but now I am going with ET performance. There LT1 CNC'd head is flirting with flowing close to 300 cfm. Now this is not based off the set you see on the website but it is offered. The cost is the same as LE2's just a better flow number. Nothing against LE because I know his work is awesome, but it just comes down to what you want. The best bang for the buck is what I am going with!!!

Yes and any reputable porter will tell you there is more to this stuff than flow and especially more than peak flow.

Correct, tumble & swirl are a big factor also. Making sure you correctly take out enough in areas where others you take out a little less. Head porting is a mixture of science and art.
