Default stock fuel system with big shot

I've been looking all day for info and haven't come up with much. I haven't actually run my 250 shot yet (broke **** before I could at the track). I have a 255 lph pump with stock lines/rails. Fuel pressure is regulated to 43.5 psi (vacuum line off). I know I'm running on the edge but I don't need people to talk to me like I'm a dumb ***. If you've got nitrous, tell me what you've got, advice you've got, results you've had, especially things like wideband with big shot. I'm looking at a stand alone in the for sale section and kinda short on cash but don't wanna skip on a good deal if I need it.

That is an aweful lot for a stock fuel system. We have sprayed as much as 200 through a tuned port motor with a stock fuel system and it started to flutter up top. The lines are very similar between the two so you may run into problems flowing enough fuel.

My buddy's '97 T/A w/a 383 made 401rwhp on motor, and he would hit it with a 200 wet shot all day, A/F was perfect (wideband). He had Delphi 42lb injectors and a Walbro 255lph pump with the stock wiring harness.

Injector size and such means NOTHING with a wet kit.
Honestly I would say start smaller and work your way up. You would need spme pretty damn good heads to flow that much and frankly from the numbers in your sig I do not believe your heads are up to that big a shot.
Start about 175 and step up 25 at a time and I bet you stop gaining anything by about the 200 shot.

I asked this question in the nitrous forum and was told by a guy that had done it (Tony Sheppard I believe) that 200 on stock rails and such was really pushing it, I bought all the pieces for my stand alone for less than 150 including the pump. The kits Nitro Dave sells are very nice but over priced IMO. I got a 1 gallon Jaz cell for 60 shipped, a Aeromotive Pump for 30 shipped and a regulator with guage for 40 shipped. I have quite a few hoses from the N20 kit I bought and will use them and might have to get one more made. So really you can do the stand alone very inexpensivly with good componets if you just shop around.

friend of mine ran a 275 shot(two dry kits) on his stock 93z. everything else was stock but dragradials. 2.73 a4 car. went 8.86@78 all motor and 7.17@100.8 on the spray!!! very impressive. after a few months it finally got #8 piston. however my car ,also a 93 would only take a 175 shot. it nosed over if anymore was added. it went from 8.9@78 to 7.5s@ 90. still good but know match for his car at the time. both cars were a4's. anther friend of mine has a 95z with a turbo350 trans. and 2500 conv. elec.w/p. headers and exhaust and comp. 212-218 .488-.495 cam. has ran 8.30 n/a and with two kits (wet and dry) 250shot. 6.91@98.

What kind of dry kit are you pushing that kind of power with?? How are you getting the extra fuel?? What fuel pressure for each shot??

that was with stock fuel pump and stock everything. every dry shot ive seen has worked better on an lt1 than any wet kit. the 95z thats went 6.91,used to use just the wet kit.it ran 7.8s with it. switched to the dry and went 7.4s with the same jets. he now uses his wet kit for a second stage.

Dude, I wouldn't do it..... I had stock lines and everything else modified. 36lb injectors, Walbro 255 in the tank, Aeromotive regulator, 43 psi of fuel pressure, etc, etc.... Was hitting a 355 that dynoed 422RWHP naturally aspirated with a 150 shot TNT wet system.

Laid down 525 RWHP (I had also switched to a TH400 between the NA dyno and the n2o dyno so with the old T56 it would have been like probably 40-50 hp more) and 597 RWTQ..... Good numbers I was thinking and was enough to go 10.40's at 131 mph at 3550lb raceweight...

however the A/F ratio was 14.3:1 and higher the whole pull!!!!!! Any hotter and I would have smoked my forged piston, h-beam rod 355..... not good... I don't think stock lines can support much more than 500RWHP on an LT1. Any more than that and you are walking the fine line of motor rebuild... I'd say if you want to go bigger spend the 1800 bucks or so on a good fuel system.... When you wanna run the big shot, you gotta provide big fuel.... or expensive damage will most likely be the result....

Even with the inline booster pump? I am about 350rwhp(stock heads, gm847, boltons) and am gathering the last parts for my juice. I have a NX wet with a standalone and a NOS 5176 with a inline booster and 255lph intank. But the stock lines still won't work?

i'm running stock fuel rails on mine still. i did change to 1/2 in line from tank up to the rail and 36lb. injectors adj. fuel psi. reg. and 255 in tank. dont have any hp# ,but probablly enough to go 9.9s. the biggest thing to pick mine up on the spray was lowering the timing to 28 degrees total. fuel psi. is only half of it. timing also matters. but like some of the other guys said ,you should start out alot less. some cars will take more than others. mine had 160k when i did the install. and ran fine for about a year. i did get #8 piston eventually.

yeah I am thinking first stage dry at 100 or 150 and then 100 wet or so when second gear grabs. Are you using a NOS 5176 dry or what design to spike the fuel pressure? What FP do you run on a 200 dry shot?

i believe thats the part#. the smaller solenoids will only flow around 150-175. i would start out with a 100 shot dry and add maybe a 50shot wet to begin with. you will need TIRES!!! et streets are drag radials or slicks. it wont come close to hooking on plain radials.even from a 20roll. like i said in an earlier post, some cars will take more than others. start out low and work your way up.octane should also be adressed. 100 octane racing fuel. are mixing in some racing gas with your super unlded. should be done.

Yes I will definatley run race gas in the standalone, and probably some good premium and octane boost or race gas mix. I already have the tr6's. My solenoid right now has a 0.68 orifice but I might use that just for the fuel pressure regulator and then run a larger solenoid to supply the n20 to the motor. The wet Kit I have will put 250rwhp which is way more than my motor will handle at this point.
