all this talk about converters are getting me thinking. I currently have a stock stall and stock 2.73 gears. I know im gonna need a rear soon as sometimes i get the one tire fire. I was thinking of 3.73 to get me moving but if im not gonna pick up .3 in the 1/4 to me its not worth it since i drive alot of highway. As for a converter i mainly drive on the street with street tires i really dont see it as a benifit to me? I want to add alot more power so i will have trouble getting it to hook already with out the aid. And how does the converters work at low speed crusing and highway. I take my car to florida alot 1250miles and i run it non stop just stop to get gas and waffle house in ga but thats it. Will it affect me much? Oh and when you launch a car with a converter dur you still brake torque it or just stab the go pedal

With your 3.73 Gears, I would definitley recommend a Torque Converter (Stall), as your next mod. You will feel, and see the difference in 1/4 times, and it's one of the cheapest mods you can do to liven up an automatic. I would look into Fuddle Racing, or one of the other sponsors. You can get pretty good deals, and Fuddle has there converters starting at $400 or so, from what I've heard they are tuff to beat espically with the price. I know some prefer Vig, Yank etc. But with the amount of good feedback I've heard about Fuddle, they make a quality product, and have the warranty, customer support, and price to back it up.

Your probably going to want a Mail-Order tune and a Tranny Cooler, the tune will probably cost 150-200 bucks or so, from a sponsor... and you can get coolers pretty reasonable, and they aren't too hard to install. It's a little more than 500 after you put everything into it, but I think you would definitley feel the bang for the buck.

If you don't want a stall I would do some suspension mods, maybe shocks/springs/lca's/sfc's. You good probably get it all for around $500.

i already have the money deducted for a tune. which leaves me with around 500....now for the converter, im going to hold off for when i get the tranny rebuilt (cahall performance transmissions) besides if i put a converter in the way the tranny is now i think i will send it on its last leg. it used to bang off the rev limiter at WOT before shifting into gear. i checked the fluid and it was low, so i filled it up and hasnt done it since. i just dont want to chance it and ruin the trans. i was looking at the hughs performance transmission rebuild kit and doing it myself, but its if my friend jason can help me. as for suspension i have LG Motorsport lower control arms, BMR STB. My step dad is going to be making my subframe connectors and all ill need then is a panhard bar and torque arm. its a tough decision guys/gals. thanks for all your input.....
